Growing up in a musical family in Toronto, Carol absorbed influences from Broadway to folk and jazz. She studied piano from age four, sang three-part harmony with her sisters, picking up guitar as a teen and writing songs by age 14.

Traveling to Manhattan for a CBC documentary on Harold Arlen, Carol became close to the reclusive composer and met other legends of the American songbook. Their influence and that of Canada’s stellar songwriters has inspired a musical journey of varied paths. With her stirring voice and memorable songs Carol invokes music’s power to connect, inspire and heal with every performance.

“ … one of Victoria’s favourite vocalists…” Victoria Jazz Fest

Recently the journey has taken Carol to Nashville where she recorded an album of engaging originals with Music City’s finest session players. Her second album, ’Change in the Weather,’ is nearing completion and marks a change in direction from jazz back to a guitar-based Roots sound and from the west coast to the heart of Tennessee.
